My husband Danny & my daughters (Emma & Elly) are my world. They have encouraged me to follow my passion and start my own gym! They share my passion so I'm sure you'll be seeing a lot of them around the gym! We also share a love for butterflies, so that's where the name "FLY" gymnastics came to be. 

I was enrolled in gymnastics from the age of 3  until I graduated high school. Then my role switched from athlete to a coach.  My whole life, gymnastics has been a part of my life in one way or another.  I have coached ALL levels and have loved it, I also still like flip around myself :) Throughout my coaching journey, I have coached club gymnastics, middle school gymnastics, high school gymnastics (taking home 2 state titles!!), recreational gymnastics, and private tumbling/gymnastics lessons! Most recently, I have loved coaching my own daughters! 

Along with my gymnastics background, I have a masters degree in teaching and was a Physical Education teacher for 17 years before I resigned.  I love helping kids become the best version of themselves.  LET'S GOOOOOO!!!

 My name is Shannon Alcala and I have a husband (Juan) of 22 years and 3 beautiful children. Verrah is 19 and is studying nursing at MSOE in Milwaukee. Silas is 17 and enjoys  baseball and weight lifting. Samaya is 15 and recently hung up her leotard for a volleyball and track spikes. Pole vaulting is her favorite event. She is also one of our Fly Coaches!

Along with my degree in business and marketing, I have coached gymnastics for 12 years. I've watched my girls compete since they were 5. I love gymnastics and working with kids! They truly bring me joy!  I’m looking forward to getting to know each and everyone one of you. Welcome to the Fly Family!!!
